Today was backwards day! The kids enjoyed wearing their clothes backwards all day today... It definately made the day interesting.
I can't wait to go to the talent show tonight! We have four kids from our class performing and I am sure they will steal the show :)
April book orders came out today. I'll submit all orders on the 18th. Feel free to order online.
Also coming home today is our latest fundraiser. This time students are selling Meal Stack packs! The selling period is through the 18th and all funds need to be turned in with the orders. The Meal Stacks will be delivered to us on May 2nd. If you've never gotten a Meal Stack before, it is a great deal! I plan on ordering one for myself :)

Students
will be taking the MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) test during the weeks of
April 14th and April 21st. This is a state-wide reading,
writing, and math test with multiple choice and short answer questions. We will
be completing the Communication Arts (reading and writing) portions of the test
on April 14th, 15th, and 16th and the Math
portions of the test on April 21st and 22nd. We will
start in the morning and be finished by specials each day.
Here
are some ways you can help your child prepare for testing:
· Please make sure not to
schedule any appointments for testing days.
· Please have your child
to school on time on testing days so they don’t miss any instructions or
disrupt testing.
· Make sure your child
gets a good night’s sleep.
· Make sure your child
eats breakfast.
· Talk to your child about
testing. We have talked and will continue to talk about simply doing and being
proud of our best.

Math
In
Math we are doing perimeters. We did less multiplication tests this week than
normal. We did a lot of math on perimeters because the MAP TEST is coming up.
On April fool’s day (Tuesday) Miss. Baxter brought in Brownies because in
Fractions we were talking about sharing Brownies equally.
Writing
In
Writing we are still working on Persuasive writing. We are doing a lot of Writing because once again
the MAP TEST is coming up. Before SPRING BREAK we wrote letters that were about
Juvenile Arthritis to make the medicine less money. So over SPRING BREAK
Kyleigh went to Washington D.C. to give the letters to the legislators. Kyleigh
said there going to have a big meeting about it.
Reading
In
read aloud we are reading Sisters Grimm. Right
now in the book the sisters Daphne and Sabrina and a kid named Puck are
going to save Daphne and Sabrina’s granny.
April Fool’s Day
On
April first Miss Baxter brought Brownies and almost half the class thought she
brought Brown E’s. But at the end of the day the trick was there was no trick.
