About Me

Hi!  My name is Cassandra Baxter.  This is my fourth year teaching 3rd grade at Mill Creek, and I can’t wait for our year to start! I grew up in a suburb of St. Louis where my parents still live with my dog, Tilley. Always knowing that I wanted to be a teacher, I pursued and received my Bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University in Springfield (Go Bears!). Upon graduation, I began my teaching career for School of the Osage district in Lake Ozark in 2007 where I loved teaching first grade for four years. Living at the lake was great, but I decided to move to Columbia in 2011. I began working at Mill Creek as an instructional aide helping out the first grade teachers where they needed it and working with students in small groups and one on one. The following year, I was back in my own classroom teaching Kindergarten and absolutely LOVED my class!  Following that Kindergarten class was my first class of third graders: the first graders I’d been blessed enough to work with my first year in Columbia! It was so great to have familiar faces in my class as I started a new grade level. I was sad to pass them on to fourth grade, but I am really excited to start a new year with new friends!
